Rated 4.7/5 stars on Trip Advisor

We thought it might be a once-in-a-lifetime trip, but it was so special we’re heading back for the third time in 2025.

From peaceful mornings with coffee by the lake to watching the northern lights at night, Milton Lake Lodge was truly a trip of a lifetime.

We had a memorable trip with fantastic fishing and were lucky to be paired with their most experienced guide, Braden.

Superb food, great fishing, and a team that went above and beyond to make sure we were looked after.

Everything exceeded expectations—guides, accommodations, and food that could rival a high-end Seattle restaurant

There’s no better experience—trophy fish, great food, and a team that takes care of every detail.

Boundless Angling Opportunities

Awesome fishing including trophy size fish is a reason that people come to Milton Lake Lodge and the outposts. Lund boats, professional guides and quality fishing gear add to that attraction. For all of our lakes, keeping fishing pressure to a minimum is a top priority, including good conservation such as catch and release, as well as only using barbless hooks. These practices will allow the fishery to not only remain vibrant as it is today, but also to consistently improve throughout the upcoming years. We are continually looking to expand our fishing into new areas that we have never been able to access before.

Northern Pike in Shallow Water, All Season Long

The Northern Pike chooses its location based on water temperature and food supply. Here in far Northern Saskatchewan, the water stays cool, and the pike remain shallow all season long. You can target these apex predators in 1–10 feet of water from June through early September. Watching these ambush hunters explode on a surface lure is an unforgettable experience.

Lake Trout!

The lake trout is actually a member of the char family, closely related to brook trout and Arctic char. In the cool, clear waters of the north, these behemoths can grow impressively large. In June, you can catch them in shallow water—even right off the dock in front of the lodge. As summer progresses and the water warms, lake trout school up in deeper areas, where they remain active and aggressive. By late August and early September, they move back into the shallows to stage for their fall spawn—a prime opportunity to target big numbers of fish in accessible water.

Sailfish of the North

The Arctic Grayling thrives in the clear, cold glacial rivers of Northern Canada. Known for its striking iridescent scales and large, sail-like dorsal fin, this beautiful fish is a favorite among anglers. Grayling feed primarily on insects and are active throughout the season. Milton Lake Lodge offers access to untouched rivers and remote runs where few—if any—anglers have ever cast a line. Reach out to learn more about these unique fishing opportunities.
