Rated 4.7/5 stars on Trip Advisor

We thought it might be a once-in-a-lifetime trip, but it was so special we’re heading back for the third time in 2025.

From peaceful mornings with coffee by the lake to watching the northern lights at night, Milton Lake Lodge was truly a trip of a lifetime.

We had a memorable trip with fantastic fishing and were lucky to be paired with their most experienced guide, Braden.

Superb food, great fishing, and a team that went above and beyond to make sure we were looked after.

Everything exceeded expectations—guides, accommodations, and food that could rival a high-end Seattle restaurant

There’s no better experience—trophy fish, great food, and a team that takes care of every detail.

An Abundance of Lake Trout

These prehistoric looking behemoths lurk the deep cold waters in our lakes, but during the cooler months migrate to the shallows to feed. Lake trout can be caught trolling, casting or by vertically jigging and makes for a great day of sport fishing. Beginning in late June the lake trout go deep and vertical jigging works best and the numbers of lake trout in the 5-12 lb. class can be spectacular and a single boat rereleasing 100 fish per day is not unheard of.

Lake Trout of Northern Saskatchewan

The lakes in Northern Saskatchewan are deep, cold and clear. Etched out by receding glaciers thousands of years ago our lakes now offer the perfect aquatic environment to support the widely popular Canadian Lake Trout. Pulling one of these massive beasts up from the depths is a worthy experience for any angler. Come and try some vertical jigging or trolling for a real blast and see how many you can land per hour!
