Lake and Lodge: The Lake

Milton Lake and the other lakes to which we have fishing rights are set within the Precambrian Shield, also known as the Canadian Shield. This is a large area of rock, clear cold lakes and rivers, and pine forest that surrounds Hudson Bay and stretches across five Canadian provinces, two territories, and into the northern United States.

This area of northern Saskatchewan is one of Canada's (if not the world's) most remote places.

Few if any humans have lived here; only a few Dené hunters and trappers have set foot here, and even their excursions into this region have been rare.

Because we accommodate only 16 guests at a time, only a select few get here each year to fish and enjoy the facilities and amenities we offer.

Milton Lake is located between the 59th and 60th parallel, just south of the North West Territories. It is a deep lake, with holes that are more than 100 feet deep. Several major rivers and many small streams flow into it, and rock cliffs line the shore.

The lake is home to trophy northern pike, lake trout and arctic grayling.

It is now also home to Milton Lake Lodge, where dreams come to life!

“On behalf of Case New Holland’s construction equipment division, our customer guests from Mastec Construction and myself, we want to sincerely thank all of you for the wonderful Canadian hospitality and adventure we had on our recent visit to Milton Lake. Without a doubt, it was the best lodge I have ever been to in the world with service and personal attention second to none. There is no question that you are reaching your mission statement by providing a most memorable experience for all your guests. You made dreams come true! What a great facility for the location. It was a tremendous week for all of us.”
