Fishing

Be the first to fish one of the planet's last untouched areas... the far north of Saskatchewan between the 59th and 60th parallel, where we have the top Saskatchewan sportsfish: lake trout, arctic grayling, and northern pike.

Not just a great combination of fish, but large numbers as well because these are truly virgin waters.

Fish for all these species within minutes of the lodge. No long boat rides needed to get to the good spots; trophy fish can be caught from the rocky shore right in front of the lodge.

Having this great fishing so close by makes for exciting days, because you can easily fish for all three species between sunrise and sunset. Because you are fishing on virgin waters, the fish are abundant everywhere.

The Porcupine River and East Porcupine River are near the lodge, and are great for fly-fishing grayling. The lake has many sheltered bays and islands, so there's always somewhere to fish, even if the weather isn't co-operating fully.

No long boat rides, low fishing pressure and a luxury lodge... this is the ultimate. For those with an added sense of adventure, take a trip to one of our virgin fly-out lakes.

Shore lunch

We practise catch-and-release, but we do hold on to enough fish so that your guide can prepare an unforgettable shore lunch: cuisine-style meals like honey-glazed pike, stir fried fish, beer-battered fish and more, all made over an open fire.

Trophy catches

We work closely with a world-class taxidermist who can precisely replicate your trophy catch. We weigh, measure and photograph your trophy catch in detail for this purpose.

"The charm of fishing
is that it is the pursuit
of what is illusive
but attainable;
a perpetual series of
occasions for hope."

John Buchan, 1915

"What a thrill it was to be among the very first anglers to fish at Milton Lake. The lodge is intimate, the accommodations are first class, and the meals are as fine as any posh New York restaurant. Best of all, the fishing is out of this world."
