Adventure Canoeing
We're very excited to add adventure canoeing trips to our lineup of packages available during the 2006 season. Can you imagine paddling down a meandering river that only a handful of humans have ever explored?
Can you imagine the thrill of shooting rapids and catching world class northern pike and arctic grayling all in the same day?
Can you imagine pitching your tent on moss that is a foot deep, 200 feet above a roaring river, and dining on a shore lunch of fresh fish and wild blueberries?
Go ahead, imagine all that and more.
All of our canoe trips take you through breathtaking scenery in the heart of Northern Saskatchewan's wilderness. These fully-guided trips can be custom-designed to fulfill your every dream.
We boast that our canoe trips are among some of the most remote on the planet, taking you through breathtaking scenery in the heart of Northern Saskatchewan's wilderness. After talking with native elders and local experienced canoe enthusiasts it soon became evident that these were truly some of the world's last frontiers. Much of the water in this area has never seen people before. Ever!
All of our trips are fully guided by veteran canoeists for your peace of mind and safety, and can be custom-designed to fulfill your every dream. You will be flown in to the rendezvous point with canoes and guides and picked up by float plane at your final destination. There are no roads within a hundred or more miles of here.
Although all of our trips are custom designed to fit your wants and needs, here are a few examples to give you a feel for what we offer:
Walker Lake to Milton Lake, 4 days
This beginner trip is a relaxing four days between Walker Lake and Milton Lake. This 25 mile trip down the East Porcupine River offers breathtaking scenery and ample fishing opportunities for arctic grayling and northern pike in two lakes and the East Porcupine River.
There are several small sets of rapids in this stretch and one advanced set which can be portaged around or paddled by experienced canoeists. This trip is ideal for those wanting to leave free time for fishing, photography or simply enjoying the magnificant scenery.
Milton Lake to Milton Lake, 4 days canoeing or 8 days canoeing/fishing
This 35 mile journey starts at Milton Lake and ends at Milton lake after a 1.5 mile portage to get back in. Between this span you will paddle the Porcupine River, East Porcupine River, McIntyre River, Pinkham Lake, Milton Lake and two other smaller lakes.
There are long stretches of bigger rapids on the McIntyre as well as a beautiful waterfall that is a must-see. The rolling whitewater in this trip makes it ideal for those looking for a little more adventure.
This trip makes a great four-day canoe trip. With four lakes and three rivers in this trip it also makes a terrific eight-day combination canoe/fishing trip for those wanting to spend time fishing truly virgin waters.
