Bear Hunting

Milton Lake Lodge is proud to offer bear hunting to our menu of adventures. We have a limited number of spring bear hunts available.

We have a very large population of very large black bears in our area that have never been hunted. They sport not only an above-average size but come in many different color phases.

Thomas Huettemann of Germany was successful taking this black bear on his first day of hunting -- the first-ever bear taken at Milton Lake Lodge (above and below).

"Dad and I went on a bit of a spot-and-stalk hunt after supper last night. We have been having a lot of trouble with three different bears here in camp. A four-year old ran amuck here and was taken with rifle Wednesday by Joey Caruso and this eight- to 10-year-old by dad last night (June 26, 2008). We crept to within 20 yards to get a clean shot. Very very exciting for both of us. This is the first bear taken with a muzzle loader at Milton Lake Lodge." --Thomas Hauer
